SARC Parent Volunteers
SARC volunteers work hard to make sure our camp has the help we need to provide excellent training, nutrition, camp activities, and an overall supportive environment for our athletes. It’s a lot of hard work, but also a lot of fun! Because of how much interest we’ve been getting from parents, we have started a more formal application process for parents who would like to volunteer at camp.
Camp Volunteers are responsible for off-the-hill aspects of camp including cooking, supervision of campers, transportation via camp vans around town and to and from the airport, grocery shopping, etc. While typically volunteers will have some time off between 7am-12pm, there are often errands that need to be run, occasionally a sick or injured athlete hanging back at camp, and lunch and dinner prep that needs to be taken care of during that time.
Volunteers can stay in camp lodging to help with supervision. Camp volunteers get their own bed, but may be in a shared room with other adults.
OR if they prefer to stay in their own lodging, we will also offer that as an option this year! But they should plan to be at the camp house all day most days.
We require all Camp Volunteers to acquire a US Ski and Snowboard Volunteer Membership. This includes a background check, safesport certification, and a $65 fee.
Email sarabeeken3@gmail.com for more information about being a camp volunteer for one or both sessions at SARC Mt. Hood. Applications are due by March 10th, 2026. We will make selections by March 20th.
